Collegiate Underwriters & Administrators, Inc. (NCUA) is an
insurance agency dedicated exclusively to the design and
management of student medical insurance programs for colleges
and universities. NCUA, along with our sister company, Special
Risk Consultants, Inc., has specialized in the college student
medical business for over 20 years.
NCUA is domiciled in Pennsylvania and licensed in most, but
not all, of the United States. Our unique position,
representing the university instead of the insurance company
selected to underwrite the risk, has earned us a reputation of
honesty and integrity among our clients.
NCUA’s core focus is to empower the university to deliver a
more cost-effective student insurance product, process, and
service ... through the use of innovative technology. We apply
technology in new and unique ways to allow the university to
increase insurance benefits, stabilize premiums, and generate
revenue.
Our clients tend to be universities who understand the
complexity of the health care industry and desire a
knowledgeable business partner to help them develop current
solutions to an ever-changing condition. When their students
say “we need better insurance benefits and premium increases
are painful” … they get it. They don’t accept the notion that
premiums can only be controlled by reduction in benefits. And
